Dr. Gary Christianson, OD
As a partner of Primary EyeCare, Dr. Christianson is committed to bringing a superior level of service to you and your family. Dr. Christianson graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1979 after completing his undergraduate work at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. After graduating from Optometry School, Dr. Christianson practiced in Idaho for 5 years before moving back to his home state of Minnesota. He has been practicing in Hutchinson since 1984 and joined Primary EyeCare (formerly Duling Optical) in 1993. Dr. Christianson enjoys all areas of primary optometry and has a special interest in ocular disease diagnosis and contact lens fitting. Dr. Christianson is a member of the American and Minnesota Optometric Associations. He has been an active member of the Hutchinson community and enjoyed raising his three sons in the community. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time on Lake Washington and the golf course. Dr. Christianson is now accepting new patients.
Dr. Matthew Hoppe, OD
As a partner of Primary EyeCare, Dr. Hoppe is eager to help you with your eye care needs. He is a board certified optometrist in Hutchinson and Litchfield. Dr. Hoppe's interests are in primary care, children's eye care and Vision Therapy. He received his Bachelor of Visual Science degree and his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. He completed internships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland, OR. Dr. Hoppe is a member of the American and Minnesota Optometric Association and is an Infant See Provider. He is also a Hutchinson Jaycee member. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. When Dr. Hoppe is not working at Primary EyeCare, you can find him on the golf course or playing hockey with his boys. Dr. Hoppe is now accepting new patients.

Sharon, Quality Control Manager
Sharon joined Primary EyeCare in 1994, bringing 5 years of prior experience in the eye care field with her. Sharon is the Quality Control Manager as she keeps a final check on all transactions and procedures that take place in the practice. She also can be found in the dispensing area helping with frame and lens selections.
Mary, Optical Team Leader
Mary is the longest-term employee having been with the practice from the beginning in 1990. Mary is the team leader in the optical area and brings invaluable experience to the dispensing area, helping patients find the proper frame and lens type for their personal use.
Renee, Floor Manager
Renee brings over 25 years of experience in the eye care field. She has been with Primary EyeCare since 1998. As the Floor Manager, Renee is in charge of employee scheduling and policies in the optical area. Renee understands the optical business from all sides and can
be found helping out in most areas of the office.
Tami, Business Manager
Tami graduated with a degree as an Optometric Assistant. She had 10 years experience prior to joining Primary EyeCare in 1997. As the business manager Tami is in charge of all insurance claims and patient billing. Tami is one of our most versatile employees as she also helps out in the optical area, and as a technician for the Doctors.
Marilyn, Reception Team Leader
Marilyn was an office manager in the eye care field before joining Primary EyeCare in 1999. Marilyn is the team leader in our reception area. She is responsible for physical reception, recall and patient files. In addition she often helps out in the optical area with frame and lens selection.
Michelle, Clinic Team Leader
Michelle has been with Primary EyeCare since 2005 and brings over 5 years of prior experience to our team. Michelle is the team leader in the clinic area. She does the majority of the pre and special testing for the Doctors. She can also often be found helping select frame and lenses and dispensing eyewear in the optical area as well instructing patients in the care of their contact lenses.
Peggy, Accounts Payable
Peggy is in charge of the accounts payable. She has been with Primary EyeCare since 1995 and is in charge of all accounts payable, employee benefits and payroll management. She also helps out with the marketing for Primary EyeCare.
Jessica, Lab Finishing Manager
Jesse has been with Primary EyeCare since 2002. She also had several years experience prior to joining our practice. As our Lab Finishing Manager she is the one who does the final work on your new eyewear and takes special pride in knowing your work is finished to the highest standards.
Michael, Lab Surfacing Manager
Mike is the Lab Surfacing manager. Mike brings over 30 years to the lab and has been with Primary EyeCare since 1997. Mike is the person responsible for grinding your lenses to the exact prescription. Mike is an ABO certified optician.
Litchfield Location
Diane, Manager
Diane is the manager of the Litchfield office. She has been with Primary EyeCare since 1990. Prior to this she had 20 years experience in the optical business. Diane understands all aspects of the business from the optical, to the examination process, to the general business items. She is well known in the Litchfield area as many patients have come to trust her experience and knowledge when choosing an eye care provider.
Judy, Reception Leader and Billing
Judy has been with Primary EyeCare since 2000. She helps with all areas of the office and is responsible for the insurance billing. She also helps out often with the reception area, frame and lens selection, dispensing and preliminary testing.
Shelly, Clinic and Optical Team Leader
Shelly joined Primary EyeCare in 2003. Shelly splits her time between helping patients pick out the correct frame and lenses and also doing preliminary and special testing for the Doctor. Shelly also keeps track of the recall system and patient files. Shelly can also be found helping the staff in the Hutchinson office as needed.
